![]() I ran this setup for over 3 years with absolutely no problems. I preferred using the bolts as it allowed me to fine tune the camber I needed. The alternative to using correcting bolts, is to elongate the upper strut mount hole (on the strut itself, not the nuckle). The bolts where relatively inexpensive ($16/pair). Essentially the bolts have a lobe (similar to a camshaft) that allows about 1.5 degrees or positive or negative wheel adjustment. To compensate for the additional height, I installed a set of camber/caster bolts from Eibach. Not to mention, but it'll handle absolutely horribly. Within a few inches, it's not noticeable, but as you begin to reach below the 2.5" point, the camber needs to be addressed in order to keep tire wear at a minimum. Naturally, the camber was off on my front end, considering the arc that a IFS suspension travels along. So, about 4 hours later, I had the 2" suspension complete. The 2" spacers gave me more than 2" of overall height, much closer to 3". It was and still is an invaluable resource for someone who wants to add a little height to the kick/track without breaking the bank: This article was probably the best bit of advice I'd ever been given regarding my Zuk. ![]() At that point in time, I opted to just perform the 2" suspension lift, and put the body lift project until another time. Having a limited budget, I read the Zuwharrie tech article that Heather Galvin published about a 5" budget 4 door lift using honed out Jeep TJ coil spacers and a 3" body lift. Not a whole lot, so I wanted to gain a bit more lift and tire clearance so I didn't drag the belly across everything. At stock height, they rubbed a bit at full stuff, and the the knobs would catch the front bumper cover at full lock.Īt this point, I had given the zuk about an inch of additional clearance (27" stock tire vs. My first "Big" upgrade was a set of 29" swampers, and what a difference those made. I also salvaged a "never bashed" tracker front skidplate that I installed to help protect the front end (since I was skirting the ground at stock height). I began making some small modifications to it, like ditching the stock auto locking hubs for Aisin manual hubs off a wrecked Sami. It really amazed alot of people who at first gave me a hard time. [imgĮven in stock form, my little Zuk would follow the Jeep Cherokee parked next to it. I bought it in 2000 with 85k on the odometer. What began as a vehicle purchased to replace my fading car, slowly made a transition once I began to realize the potential this funny looking vehicle had. Here's the info thread on my four door buildup.
